What is interesting about the German experience of importing medical hemp from Holland

24.07.2020

Export potential of viroshuvano in Holland of medical hemp

Let's look at the volume of the Dutch domestic market for medical cannabis consumption in relation to the value and dynamics of exports of “leaves and flowers” with the therapeutic properties indicated in the graph. Once again, let us pose the question that begs itself - where will the raw materials produced in the Netherlands or the final products made from the leaves and inflorescences of legal psychoactive hemp flood at a dumping price, if an appropriate regulatory framework is created in any country in the world, including Ukraine? Is the government of our country able to create conditions for national producers so that they can compete on equal terms with Dutch international hemp corporations, which are able to significantly dump and impose their conditions on the Ukrainian consumer at the initial stage of market development?

On the pages of the specialized electronic edition of Ukrainian cannabis growers, the question has already been raised about the negative trends that arise in the case of the dependence of the supply of medical hemp from a foreign supplying state in the refraction of the situation on this market in Denmark . This article raises the question of similar problems faced by German wholesalers of medical cannabis who contract with a Dutch government agency specializing in the matter.

The Dutch government agency responsible for the export of legal medicinal cannabis restricts the number of German wholesalers to whom it sends the leaves and flowers of the plant with significant therapeutic potential.

In particular, the Berlin-based AMP German Cannabis Group notified the media that the Office of Medical Cannabis (OMC) “has postponed the sale of previously agreed volumes of leaves and flowers of plants with significant therapeutic potential under previously concluded contracts additional importers, including "AMP", until further notice. "

In turn, several German wholesalers confirmed that the amount of Dutch hemp they were given for delivery in June was about 5 kilograms, the same amount could be ordered in May.

Commentary of the Association "Ukrainian technical hemp"

Every month, the Dutch Office of Medical Cannabis ships about 200 kg to Germany as part of an intergovernmental supply agreement of 2,500 kg per year. The constant supply of Dutch-made medical hemp combined with the growing number of German importers means that the individual importer receives less raw material every month. In April, about 30 German wholesale customers of OMS received up to 6.5 kg of raw hemp. In May, the number of customers increased to 40, and the volume of leaves and inflorescences per wholesaler decreased to 5 kilograms. Those. if every importer on the market regained about 5 kg of medical cannabis in June, this means that OMC has limited the number of German customers to about 40 companies.

In 2019, almost 40% of the medicinal cannabis flowers imported for sale to patients in Germany came from the Netherlands, while the remainder of the green mass was imported from Canada and Canadian companies based in Portugal.

The volume of raw materials produced in the country of "maple leaf" explains " Why the crisis in the medical hemp market is predetermined in Canada ." The above material indicated that one of the methods for overcoming the crisis of overproduction is an aggressive policy of moving to foreign markets. Let's take a close look at the volume of the Dutch domestic market for medical cannabis consumption in relation to the value and dynamics of exports of “leaves and flowers” with the therapeutic properties indicated in the graph.

The export potential of Dutch-grown medical cannabis

Once again, let us pose the question that begs itself: where will the raw materials produced in the Netherlands or the final products made from the leaves and inflorescences of legal psychoactive hemp flood at a dumping price, if an appropriate regulatory framework is created in any country in the world, including Ukraine? Is the government of our country able to create conditions for national producers so that they can compete on equal terms with Dutch international hemp corporations, which are able to significantly dump and impose their conditions on the Ukrainian consumer at the initial stage of market development?
