On the pages of the profile electronic edition of Ukrainian cannabisers previously described the use of cannabis in the economic needs of peoples who lived on the territory of ancient Egypt. In this material, emphasis is placed on the use of cannabis as a therapeutic agent by the priests and healers of one of the world's oldest civilizations.

The therapeutic properties of cannabis were used by our ancestors for several thousand years. The doctors of ancient Egypt, as well as their colleagues from India or China, everywhere used antimicrobial, analgesic, antifungal properties of the plant. One of the earliest references to the medical properties of cannabis is the ancient Egyptian papyrus, dating from about 1550 BC. This document recommends the intravaginal administration of a mixture of honey and hemp as an effective remedy for uterine cramps. According to Egyptologists, even before the above papyrus was written, Egyptian priests used hemp as an effective means for treating oncological diseases, vaginal bleeding, hemorrhoids, glaucoma and cataracts. Scientists argue that in ancient Egypt hemp was widely used as an anesthetic during various kinds of ancient surgical procedures, treatment of inflammatory diseases, and used leaves and inflorescences of the plant as an antiseptic during the treatment of various traumas.

During the study of mummies of Egyptian pharaohs Egyptologists discovered various cannabinoids that got into the body during its life activity, presumably during periods of therapeutic use of cannabis for the removal of pain or the treatment of any chronic diseases. For example, in the remains of one of the greatest pharaohs of ancient Egypt, Ramses II, hemp particles were found.
